“Tie Hacks” were legendary timber workers who made hand hewn cross ties for the nation’s railroads from the early 1900’s through WWII. These remarkable individuals, largely of Scandinavian descent worked through the long winters and the base of Wyoming’s rugged mountain ranges in isolated logging camps.
